The Zi Ran Wu Yi Kung Fu School
No fighting style as fighting style
Thanks for your interest in Zi Ran Wu Yi Kung Fu.
My name is Richard Kleinert. I would like to give you some insight into the martial arts that I teach at the Zi Ran Wu Yi Kung Fu School. As my martial art do not belong to the typical fighting styles and is very comprehensive, I would like to take more time to explain it in depth. I will start with a short foreword and then immerse deeper for the interested readers.
To begin with, I would like to mention, frankly and honestly, that everything I am writing here is based on my own understanding, experiences and views. Everyone can consider and feel for themselves, whether he is in resonance with what is written or not. I hope that my writing will be exciting and bring you joy and clarity.
Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it.
Eastern Philosophy
Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many.
Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books.
Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders.
Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations.
But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.
Diversity and essence
Martial art is as diverse, comprehensive, and profound as life itself. The diversity of martial art is so vast that probably a lifetime is not enough to learn everything. If we can observe, understand and practice its essence, we learn much faster. Take a tree as an example, observe it from the inside to the outside. From the juice to the trunk, from the branches to the outermost leaves. Thus, we will be able to capture the tree faster. In a seed, the whole tree is already present as information. If we know the seed, then we know the whole tree. If we begin with the essence of a human being alike, we will be able to grasp the body and all its movements more quickly. The essence of a human is equal to its consciousness. If we know the consciousness, then we know the human being.
A Style
A fighting style has certain expressions, patterns of behavior and rhythms. We develop these as we practice them, and the more we cling to them, the less spontaneous and natural we can act. A real fight though is always spontaneous and unpredictable. That is why we want to detach them as much as possible to be free.
Natural flow
We take the nature itself as a measure and a guideline for our movements. From my knowledge and experience, I have summarized the most essential and effective techniques and systematically assigned them to each element of nature. This makes them faster and easier to learn. However, the training is still time-consuming and demanding. It takes a lot of patience, self-discipline, willpower, focus and dedication.
Zi Ran – The Natural Martial Art
The term Zi Ran can’t really be understood as a combat style, rather more like a guideline and the key principle for this style of martial arts. In Chinese, Zi Ran means literary “by itself” or naturally (Ran) self (Zi). It indicates the natural origin of all things, a pure and clear mind and is the basis of everything we practice. Zi Rán Wŭ Yì Kūng Fū is the subtle art that unites the mind with the technique…
